About Us

Duluth Elite Drywall is a locally owned drywall contractor serving Duluth and the greater Northland from our home base on Mall Drive. For 20 years we've focused on one trade and done it well: hanging, taping, mudding, texture matching, and repair work for homeowners and commercial clients across a 30-minute drive radius of the city. We're fully licensed and insured, and unlike several companies that show up in local search results, we're actually headquartered here — not in the Twin Cities, not across the border in Wisconsin. That distinction matters in a trade built on trust, and it's one we've earned by showing up, job after job, in the same neighborhoods for two decades.

Our Story

Duluth Elite Drywall started twenty years ago with a simple observation: this city's housing stock is unlike most of the state's. Nearly half the homes here were built before 1940, which means a huge share of local walls started life as lath-and-plaster, not drywall, and have often been patched, converted, or textured by more than one previous owner over the decades. Early on, we saw contractors treating every Duluth job like a standard drywall installation and getting surprised by hidden plaster, lead paint under old texture layers, or cure times thrown off by Northland winters. We built our business around understanding those specifics instead of working around them, becoming EPA Lead-Safe Certified and learning the difference between a clean plaster-to-drywall conversion and one that leaves a visible seam. Twenty years and thousands of jobs later, that same attention to what makes a Duluth home different is still the foundation of how we work.

Our Promise

Our promise to every client, residential or commercial, is straightforward: honest assessments, work we'd be comfortable standing behind with our name on it, and a crew that treats your home or building like it matters, because it does. We won't quote a repair as a full replacement to pad an invoice, and we won't gloss over a lead-safety requirement or a structural issue because it's inconvenient to mention. As a licensed, insured, and genuinely local company, we're accountable to this community in a way that a directory listing from three states away never will be — and that accountability is what we intend to keep earning on every wall, ceiling, and job site across the Northland.
